We’d like to express our thanks to everyone who helped this weekend with our first wrapping session in preparation for our Christmas Gift Giveaway.
Thanks to First Assembly of God of Rockaway, NJ for allowing us to use one of the rooms in their beautiful new facility.
Thanks to Anthony’s Pizza of Rockaway for donating pizzas to feed us as we worked.
And, of course, thanks to all of the volunteers who helped to wrap and transport the hundreds of gifts. The enthusiastic support of our girl scout volunteers is especially appreciated.
Please join us in September for an event in warmer weather than the usual January deep freeze! No need to wear your hiking boots or put on your cold weather gear. Just bring something to sit on and be ready to relax and enjoy awesome music in beautiful Basking Ridge!
There is no cost, although we are hoping you will bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items that we can share with the 2 organizations that are hosting the evening.
Last year our local Crane Farm on South Maple Avenue, donated a large amount of fresh produce from their garden to share with the Community Soup Kitchen. Also, a big thanks to Oak Street School who donated fresh vegetables from the school’s garden for the Soup Kitchen as well!
Please see the attached flier for specific needs from The Community Soup Kitchen.
In addition to supporting a worthy cause, we expect this to be a really fun party and we hope you will reserve this evening on your calendar. Bring a fold up chair or blanket to sit on while enjoying the music. You can buy food from one of the local restaurants or bring your own picnic!
We look forward to seeing you in downtown Basking Ridge on the porch at Ridge Family Dentistry on Saturday Sept 20 at 5:30pm!

Students at DB O’Brien, Katherine D Malone, Stony Brook, Copeland, Birchwood schools in Rockaway Township, and Students in St Cecilia School in Rockaway participated in this year’s 100th Day of School celebration. Over 850 items were collected for local food pantries.
The children’s donations will help local food pantries with more non-edible essentials like toiletries and hygiene products for the members of our community who need it most. Many of these items, such as soap, laundry detergent and toilet paper, are not covered by food stamps yet they are all necessities of life.
Thomas Jefferson and Lincoln schools in Rockaway Boro collected 466 items on the 100th day of school to help local Food Pantries. “To Show We Care”
