Sparta woman’s coupon know-how puts food on tables

Editor’s note: As part of Newton Medical Center’s ’15 Year For Women initiative, The New Jersey Herald is presenting a series of profiles on 15 women who are representative of the many in our community who are making a positive impact. This is the first story in the series.

Thanks from Community Soup Kitchen & Outreach Center

Suzanne:

Many thanks for connecting us with Local Share — so happy to receive the wonderful corn today!!!! You have made so many great connections for the Community Soup Kitchen, which translates into us helping so many of our guests.

I just wanted to share with you a story of those you are helping…..just the other day, a woman with 4 children came to us for food and help.  Her husband died tragically 8 months ago in a car accident. She was working, and living in a temporary hotel, and needed help.  She was struggling to pay her bills and keep food on the table.  We provided them with food and the help they needed to apply for food stamps and rental assistance.  Although things are still difficult for her, she and her family are healing and trying to move forward.  And we will continue to help them along the way.

Thank you for helping us be there for those who need help!

Thank You from the Community Soup Kitchen & Outreach Center

On behalf of the Community Soup Kitchen & Outreach Center, thank you so much for ALL that you do to not only support the Soup Kitchen, but all of the other local food banks and food pantries. We are all working together to help our many neighbors in need, and you all make it happen!

The 100th day celebration at the Byram Schools was amazing and a true testament to all that you do, and all of the others you inspire, every day of the year.

Thank you for what you do every day, and every week.  You are all amazing and we at the Community Soup Kitchen are honored to work along side you to help those right here in our local community who need help.
